INDEPENDENT ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS WHAT IS IEC? The association serves as the voice of the electrical contracting industry on policies affecting its membership. IEC attempts to further the growth of our economy through skilled manpower and the principle of free enterprise. The mission of IEC is the success of all electrical contractors through Communication, Training and Guidance. To fulfill our mission, IEC serves in the following areas:

Electrical Contractors. HISTORY OF IEC The associations first offices were located in Texas, which comprised the first Board of Directors. In 1962, IEC was granted a certificate of incorporation. Shortly thereafter, in 1977 the association adopted its Corporate Bylaws, which have recently been amended in 1997. In subsequent years, IEC has grown from its original members to become an influential 74 chapter association, which represents over 3,200 electrical contractors and 47,000 electrical workers. IEC has also expanded its alliance to include 12,000 apprentices who are learning to be prominent and productive electricians. IEC will continue to expand its services to its members as well as being a voice for independent electrical contractors on the many issues affecting the industry. |
